I have worked for many of the Big Name real estate companies out there over the course of my Real Estate Career. In 2010 I came across an email marketing a 100% commission / transaction fee only Real Estate Brokerage - Meridian Capital Real Estate Services Inc. They were located in Rancho Cucamonga CA which wasn't particularly close to my home; although they had their business set up so that I would receive training and broker support at any time via phone, email or fax. I wasn't sure if I wanted to make the switch, but their commission plan was better than the other 100% commission brokerages I found online and I liked their professional image the other options lacked. There was no E&O fee's etc so I figured it was a costless venture. My only concern was that I wouldn't have a big name brokerage to put on my business cards etc. I liked Meridian Capital Real Estates logo and was hoping having that large image would not make a difference to my clients. Typically I have found that I am selling myself to my clients, not my brokerage.
It has now been a year since I joined Meridian Capital Real Estate and I am happy as ever. In the current real estate market my income is not as large as prior years, although with only giving a small fee of my commission to the broker, I am making MUCH more than I would be with Century 21 or Keller Williams in the past. I am happy with the friendly willingness to help me from their office staff and broker, and everything I need is available via the agent log in on the website. I have closed 6 transaction with them so far and was able to be paid directly from escrow on each by sending in my file via email or uploading online (for the past 2 transactions). It turned out not to have mattered to my client base that my company name was not as well known, and was surprised at how many of my clients were familiar with the company anyways. I couldn't be happier with my choice to try something new and don't think I will ever venture back into the traditional big name brokerages.
They just opened an escrow and loan division, which I have not had the chance to use but look forward to streamlining my clients needs within my office to better assist my clients... looking forward to this coming year!
