TERRIBLE QUALITY & POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE (DECK STAIN)

They are consistently late and on the 1st day, they left the job & stayed gone for over an hour with no communication. I called Cyra and she said their car had broken down. Delantae has an attitude problem and becomes combative when you have questions or concerns. My boyfriend mentioned their tardiness, to which Delantae responded “Well we’re here now”. They were hired to stain my 2nd floor, 8x20 deck (top & bottom). They charged us $2250. It took them 3 days because of all the stopping and needing to go purchase more supplies.. We paid them $1200 up front, but they asked for more money because they ran out of stainer. We were far too agreeable and obliged. They also used our ladder to complete the job. Before I was able to review the finished job, my boyfriend had already paid them in full ($2309). He mistakenly overpaid them and they have not issued a refund. The stain application was uneven, dripping, and they missed several areas. I told Cyra I was not pleased and I wasn’t confident they could fix it and I asked how we could be reimbursed. Delantae kept saying “It’s stainer, not paint. It’s not going to be even”. He also said it was hard to do the bottom of the deck but Cyra wanted to try & fix it. After a week of bad weather and scheduling conflicts I gave them one last date to come out, but they never confirmed. They only said, “we will get out to you this week”. With no confirmation, I decided to just request a partial refund so I could hire another company. They kept trying to convince me to let them fix it, but I just want a partial refund. If they couldn’t apply an even coat of stainer from the beginning, sanding and restraining would be a nightmare. Also, we don’t feel comfortable with them. Particularly since Delantae does not respond well to customer concerns. After my final request for a partial refund, they stopped responding.
