Knowing that this is a bit late... 2005
After my family purchased several new Trucks from Gosh i had decided to finally to take the plunge in our family tradition and purchase a new truck.. Now giving the devil its due my father and I did do the haggling for the best price which was like getting a quote on getting my toe nails pulled off one at a time.. After coming to an agreed price I was told that the sales man at the time had to get the price approved by his supervisor knowing they are discussing golf or the up coming weekend activities... he came back with a counter offer. after settling on the price there was the paperwork after carefully looking over the contract i had noticed a difference of 700.00 for a truck bed liner. I had told them i did not want the bed liner for that price and told them to take the bed liner out. they insisted that it could not be done i insisted that it to be removed that I did not want it.. after signing the paperwork I had gone to inspect the truck and had noticed they did clean up the new truck i had noticed several scratches on the truck bed and sided after complaining I was told that there was noting that could be done. after complaining to the Manager he offered a buff out repair. I insisted that I get the truck as new and not scratched up again I was told that there is noting that could be done. I had informed him that I will not be back nor will my family loss of about 2 new vehicle purchase's per year. They seemed not to care.
After 2 weeks driving the new tuck with less that 500 miles on it the truck quit running I had it towed to Gosh Ford Service Dept and they looked it over and states that it was the auto gas shut off switch known as the inertia switch he states that it was due to the location of the switch which was on the passenger side floor board and that someone must have kicked the box. I had not had a passenger in my truck yet so I just figured it must have been an anomaly. after 2 weeks went by driving down the road the truck cut off again at a 4 way stop and i had to push it to the side and again call for a tow. again the same problem was stated from the service department at Gosch Ford. they states that they fixed the problem as they must had several complaints and placed a protection cover over the switch to prevent from anyone accidentally kicking the box that would set the inertia switch off. now As of that time I had no Passenger in my truck. The service tech said it it goes off again I was to push the reset button and go on about my way. this was 2005. several years gone by after having to reset this switch more and more having to pull over and reset this button for almost 4 years. this leads to 5/2009 where the reset no longer worked. having it towed 35 miles back to Gosch Ford for the third time. I know one would ask why to Gosh Ford I felt that they knew the problem and that they should resolve the issue. after researching this issue on the internet I found out the other people has had same issues leading then to be charged over $700.00 for a fule pump that was not needed just an 50.00 part. I proceeded to call Gosch Ford the next day, and yes I too was told that my bill will be a little over $1000.00.. I was shocked I told the service person that I was researching this just last night and I could not believe I too was being charged over $700 for the same fuel pump. I instructed the service tech that I would have it towed to my personal mechanic and he is not to fix the truck. he stated to me that I needed a fuel pump as he bypassed the fuel shut off switch ( inertia) and I had no fuel pressure. I stated that he was wrong but having little knowledge in this area i thought that I would let my trusted mechanic look it over. After getting the truck towed to my mechanic letting him know what the problem was he stated that he will put it on the diagnostic computer and it will tell him. he called about 45 minutes and stated that it was ready that it needed an new (inertia switch) I had asked him about the fuel pump he stated that there was nothing wrong with the fuel pump.
So Buyer Beware DO not Shop Here and definitly do not use the Service Dept!!!!
